LAST DAY IN MANGAREVA
I woke up at 05:45am. Today, return to Tahiti.
Departure of the boat to the airport from the dock in Rikitea at 11:00am. The plane is scheduled at 01:15pm and the arrival in Tahiti is scheduled at 4:15pm.
Before departure, I wanted to see Louise and tell her good bye. So at 8:00am, after paying my bill to Bianca, I went out to see Louise. She was very happy to see me and me too! She is a very nice woman and I like her very much. She gave me a shell necklace (it is a Polynesian custom when somebody leaves). I wrote her name and address in my notebook to keep in touch with her and I kissed her on her cheeks deeply.
I had an appointment with Bianca at 10:30am on the dock, because the boat for the airport was going to leave at 11:00am maximum. The minutes passed and she was not there. So I was in a cold sweat about it because at 10:55am I didn’t see her yet and I had no mean to contact her. She had my bags and the captain of the boat turned the engine on... I can say that if I had missed this boat I would have been stuck at the Gambier for another week, because there is only one plane a week!!! And then, Bianca arrived at 10:57am. Phew, just before departure of the boat!!! I forgot what it was to be completely stressed out!!!
At the airport, after checking in, I bought a sandwich for lunch waiting for the plane. The plane took off 45mn late. The time flight seemed not very long despite of the hours of the trip.
When I arrived in Tahiti, I called Daniel, of the Pension Damyr, so that he came to pick me up. I had the same bedroom than last time. I went to the groceries to buy food for my dinner.
I went to bed very early that night because the next day I had to wake up at 04:15am to go to the Austral Islands...
