THE SHOCK
After 27 years of wait, here I am in the plane for TAHITI!
Actually, since I was 13-year-old, I have been dreaming of going to Polynesia, and more particularly to Tahiti and Bora-Bora... and after all these years of dreaming, I made the big decision, on the occasion of my 40’s, to fulfil my dream.
Since 6 months, I have been consulting all the travels to Polynesia to finally choose the one created by Terres d’Aventures (a French travel agency): they plan to go trekking in Tahiti, Bora-Bora, Moorea, Huahine and the Marquesas (Hiva Oa and Nuku Hiva). The group will be small (between 4 and 8 people)...
The budget is very high, but the fulfillment of one of my biggest dream is worth making some sacrifices!!! In August, I made my decision and I signed up for this trip. In fact, there will be 6 persons in the group, plus the guide...
The trip is scheduled from October 17th to November 8th 2010.

Today, October 17th, 2010 the meeting at the airport (Roissy Charles de Gaulle, France) was at 9:00am, in front of the information desk, for a taking off scheduled at 11:30am.
As usually, I booked a cab for 7:00am and I arrived at the airport around 7:30am. I settled into a chair in a quiet area and had been waiting patiently for 9:00am.
So, I met the other persons of my group: Alex and Rita (a Swiss German couple), Gilles (a single man aged 55), Elisabeth (a 45-year-old woman, married to a Nepali man, but she came alone) and Francoise (a 60-year-old woman, a great adventurer, with to her’s credit more than forty countries visited and a super dynamic woman)... In short, I am very happy because all the people seem to be very nice!
We checked our bags in at Air Tahiti Nui desk and we had been waiting happily for the boarding initially scheduled at 10:45am. At 10:30am, they told us several excuses for the delay: the plane is not ready, there is a strike of the air-traffic controllers, there is a general strike... But, finally we took off with only a one-hour delay!!! Phew!!!
