A SUNDAY AT THE SEA IN MANGAREVA
I woke up at 07:00am. This morning, Bianca went to the Protestant’s mass at 10:00am and her son went to the Catholic’s mass at 9:00am. Then, she kindly asked me if I would like to go with them to their beach house, located on the other side of the Island. I accepted with pleasure. Her eldest son and his girlfriend were already there. We went to join them for lunch and spent the afternoon with them. The sky was clear and the weather was nice all day long.
So at 11:30am, we went to the beach house as agreed. It was a very big house and was located in front of their pearls farm at only a few kilometers from the village of Taku.
Here are some pictures from the terrace:
The lunch was a feast: sweet potatoes, steamed surgeon fish, raw tuna marinated in coconut milk, fafaru (fermented fish during at list 24 hours and smelt like a very strong cheese! I didn’t dare eat it) and banana poe for dessert (more nourishing than the common poe/fruit pudding).
The view from the house is beautiful. I spent a part of the afternoon only staring at the ocean. I am actually a very contemplative woman. I love nature and in particular the ocean!
Around 5:30pm, we came back to the Pension. On our way, Bianca stopped to pick up on the road big grapefruits and coconuts. Here was the way to go to the market at the Gambier!!!
Then for dinner, Bianca ordered a pizza to share (it was enough because we ate a lot during lunch)!
Then I went to bed at 8:30pm.
