ARRIVAL IN RURUTU
I woke up at 06:00am. Shower, clothing and breakfast...
At 08:00am, departure by boat with Juliette and her grandson to go fishing.
Simon, an employee of Juliette, went with us on his own boat. He caught some giant clams and perches. Then we came back to the Pension. The menu of the lunch was: raw giant clams with lime juice, grilled fillet of perch, mango of the Marquesas (very well-known).
It wrung my heart to leave Juliette and Tubuai!
I asked Juliette, in case I would like to have an Internet shop and order a computer, how I can do to order a computer in Tubuai. She told me that one of her sons, Rainui worked as a computer specialist and that he could take the responsibility to order one for me. Juliette told me also that I could use her commercial premises to open my fabrics shop. To have a shop in Tubuai, you need to have a license (it’s about 70€ per year).
At 2:00pm, the niece of Juliette, Simone drove me to the airport because I had a flight to Rurutu. The plane took off 20mn early. The flight time from Tubuai to Rurutu is about 30 mn. At the airport, Yves, of the Pension LE MANOTEL was waiting for me. He is very nice and friendly.
The Pension LE MANOTEL was very close to the beach, we could hear the ocean... My little bungalow was nice and was located in the middle of a garden full of flowers and exceptional, well-kept by the owners of the Pension, Yves and Hélène.
After my installation, I went to the beach to take some pictures.
At 7:00pm, I had dinner. At the Pension, there were 5 others guests: a couple of young people, a couple of older people, and a man from Scotland. The menu of the dinner was: brick oven pizza (cooked by a man of Rurutu just near the Pension and who made also yoghurts), tuna with pineapple, tarua (it’s like taro) with a plantain banana and yoghurt for dessert. It was very good. Tomorrow normally I will go hiking.
I went to bed at 9:30pm.
