EXPLORATION OF RURUTU

I woke up at 06:15am. I slept very well. Here it was very quiet with the sound of the ocean... It rocked me.

At 07:00am, I had breakfast. I was the only one in the breakfast room because the other guests were still sleeping. I took the advantage to talk to the domestic employee who was very nice.

Then I went to the beach to take some pictures.

At 09:00am, it was the departure by car for the dock with Yves, the owner of the Pension Le Manotel, and the other guests, dock where I could meet my guide for hiking. He was very nice. His name was Reiti, and he was Polynesian. Actually he was the only guide in Rurutu. There were three other persons with me for the hiking. There were three military men from the Navy whose the boat arrived yesterday in Rurutu. They will leave Rurutu tomorrow night.

We went hiking to the caves. The guide helped me a lot during the hike because there were some physical crossing very difficult where we needed to do some climbing. It was very good and I was happy to do it. The caves were very impressive.

Here is the Monster of Rurutu!

We finished hiking around 11:30am and the guide drove us to a restaurant to have lunch. I ordered, as usually, the raw tuna marinated in coconut milk and I went close to the dock to eat my lunch.

At 1:30pm, I came back to the Pension taking some pictures on my way.

Then I took a nap. After sleeping, I went to the beach just close to the Pension to spend the rest of the afternoon.

I came back to the Pension around 5:00pm and then I had a rest until dinner time. The menu of the dinner tonight was: Chinese rolls, duck with tamarind sauce, rice, and baked Alaska for dessert.

I went to bed at 9:00pm.
