TOUR OF RURUTU
I woke up at 06:20am. Shower, clothing and breakfast.
Today, I went for a tour by ATV car with Yves, the owner of the Pension. A boat of the French Navy was docked and a dozen of military men went with us all around the island. It was very interesting. Yves can go on forever about his island and explained to us a lot of things.
We stopped to have lunch on a beautiful beach at the South of the island. Hélène, Yves’ wife, brought us a Polynesian snack: raw tuna marinated in coconut milk, roasted chicken, rice and watermelon.
After lunch, we kept going all around the island.
We stopped for a while in front of the temple of the “Tabernacle of the Post” (it was a brand-new sect in Rurutu). People said that if you wish for something to happen strongly enough in front of this house with the chimney, your wish may happen! So, I try! (And it was true for me, but that is another story!!!)
We came back to the Pension around 5:00pm.
I took a rest until dinner time. The menu of the dinner tonight was: octopus curry with coconut milk, baked surgeon fish with plantain, potatoes of Rurutu with vanilla sauce and for dessert a soft lemon/coconut cake. It was really delicious.
Then I went to bed at 9:00pm.
