BYE-BYE RURUTU AND HELLO TAHITI AGAIN!

I woke up at 06:00am. Shower, clothing and breakfast. Today I will go to Tahiti at 2:00pm.

During breakfast, Yves said hello to me and told me that I had a morning fan. I told him that I was very surprised and asked him who it was. He answered that a man called Alfred was waiting for me in front of the Pension’s door since 6:00am! Yves sent him back fortunately! I was a little bit afraid because yesterday night, during the dinner, the guard dog barked insistently and particularly very loudly because the dog felt a presence close to the Pension. Yves went out with a flashlight to see who it was, but he didn’t see anybody. So, I was thinking this morning that it could be Alfred who was hanging around since yesterday night??? I hate this kind of situations and moreover Alfred will take the same plane as me this afternoon to go back to Tahiti where he lives. He bothered me very much.

At 08:30am the rain began falling heavily. I wanted to go to the beach for my last morning in Rurutu, but it was not possible with all this rain! So I stayed at the Pension during the morning and time flew very fast: I paid my bill, I packed my bag, and I sat calmly outside of my bungalow. Hélène drove me to the airport. Reti had just come with his cousin, Alfred. I said good-bye and thanked warmly Hélène for her amazing welcoming. Then I checked in my bags. Then, I went to have a look in the art center of the airport where all the arts of Rurutu were sold. There were all kinds of weaving. Then, I joined Reti and his cousin who were at a table with Grandma Pare! They asked me if I would like to join them at their table and of course I accepted with a great pleasure. Grandma Pare paid for my drink and we talked a lot. The plane was early, so I didn’t have enough time to buy something for lunch.

Departure at 2:00pm from Rurutu and arrival at 3:30pm in Tahiti (without any stop). In the plane I completely ignored Alfred and finally he left me alone!

I called Daniel, of the Pension Damyr, so that he will come to pick me up. After my installation in my bedroom at the Pension, I went to the grocery to buy my dinner: chicken roll, pastry stuffed with banana and banana cake. Then, I came back to the Pension to take a rest and a shower. Then, I packed my bag to go to the Tuamotu the next morning.

At 5:30pm, Jocelyne, my friend guide at the Marquesas, called me directly at the Pension. I didn’t expect her call anymore. She invited me to have dinner at a restaurant close to the Pension with also Eric, my friend guide in Tahiti. Eric will come to pick me up at the Pension at 6:30pm. It was a totally unexpected dinner! So, I gave the food I bought earlier to Daniel.

So, Eric went to pick me up for the dinner. Actually we were 5 persons: me, Eric, Jocelyne, Charlie (a friend of Eric) and Jimmy (another friend of Eric who lives in Tikehau). The dinner went very well. We ate a fillet of grilled salmon of gods, it was delicious!

Then, Eric drove me back to the Pension at 9:00pm. I went to bed at 9:45pm.

Tomorrow morning will be the departure for the TUAMOTU and in particular for RANGIROA!!!
