FREE DAY IN TAHITI!
I went to bed at about 00:30am.
I woke up at 05:40am with a headache and a stomachache. It was perhaps the side effects of the trip... 20 hours flight time, not including the waiting hours, it left some marks on me!!!
Breakfast at 6:45am: bread, butter, jam and a plate of fresh fruits. I shared the breakfast with a couple in honeymoon. They were doing a three weeks trip and were visiting 11 islands total! It’s a lot to visit 11 islands in three weeks, because you spend a lot of time at the airport to go from an island to another one. Usually in three weeks, you can visit only 4 islands on average.
At 8:30am, I went for a walk near the Pension. There were some shops. It’s not necessary to go to Papeete, you have all what you need very close.
At 9:30am, after going to an ATM and to the groceries store (where you can find all kinds of goods and food), I came back to the Pension Damyr. Eric, my friend guide I met during my first trip to Polynesia, called me. He went to pick me up to the Pension at about 10:15am. I was very happy to see him again and had some news from him. I went with him to Papeete to run some errands, then we went to the snack of the market of Papeete. It was a good quality/price ratio. And I chose of course the raw fish marinated in coconut milk!!! (it’s the national dish and I love it...).
Then, we ran some other errands and came back to the Pension Damyr at about 6:00pm. Myrtille told me that there was a power cut (it is quite usual in Polynesia and varies a lot depending on the island).
I had dinner in my bedroom (some food I bought in the morning at the groceries store).
I went to bed at about 8:30pm (in Polynesia, people go to bed very early and wake up very early too: at about 5:00am/5:30am).
