ARRIVAL IN TAHITI!

Today it’s the D-DAY: I am going to Polynesia for a second trip!

The take-off is scheduled at 11:30am, and I am flying Air Tahiti Nui. The trip from Paris to Los Angeles is 12 hours flying time. We will have a stop at Los Angeles: about 2h (just the time to go to the customs and go back to the same plane, with some extra American people who are going to Tahiti also). Then other trip from Los Angeles to Papeete (Tahiti) is 8 hours flying time.

The arrival time is scheduled on Sunday at 11:00pm, local time (that is to say on Monday morning 11:00am, Paris time).

So, arrival at the airport of Tahiti Faa’a at 11:00pm!
The trip was very long, especially because I didn’t sleep at all...

After getting my big bag and going to the customs, I called Daniel, from the Pension Damyr, so that he came to pick me up at the airport. He is very nice. He is French and his wife is Tahitian. Her first name is Myrtille. For that matter, the name of their Pension (DAMYR) is composed by the first letters of their first names: DA (Daniel) and MYR (Myrtille).

Their Pension is nice and my bedroom is really great!

The main advantage of this Pension is that it is located at only 5mn by car from the airport and above all the transfer is free. Usually the arrival from France are very late (at about 11:00pm), so it’s very practical. Most hotels are located in Papeete (at about 15mn by car from the airport) and the taxi transfer is about 20 euros (not free at all!!!).
