MEETING WITH THE RAYS!

Today it’s my turn to do a tour of the island in a pirogue and to have a swim with the rays! I am so happy...

My group will go hiking at the Mount Uhe (660m). It’s a very difficult hike because they willl need ropes and harnesses...
I hope they will have a great day and I will wait until 9:15am, departure hour of The Nono Tours.

Today, in The Nono Tours, there are about 18 people. We are going to tour the island of Bora-Bora in a pirogue, to swim with the rays, and to have lunch on a motu (lunch with fresh and local food).

Here are some pictures of the day:
First stop: swimming with the gray rays...

Then, arrival on the motu to have lunch. Facing us, Bora-bora stands...

It’s lunch time!
All the plates and the dishes are woven with some leaves of palm trees...

And here is the lunch buffet!
First of all, coconut bread, breadfruit and manioc.

Then, marinated raw fish in coconut milk (Polynesian national dish) and grilled swordfish with a Chinese sauce.

Then, papaya poe (baked papaya in manioc flour and crystallized) and fresh local fruits...

It was very copious and everybody took another helping at least once!

After a demonstration to show us how to open a coconut easily, how to grate a coconut and some ways to tie a pareo, we went to another place to swim with the rays...

But just before, here is one of my favorite pictures of Bora-Bora where you can see a side of the pirogue...

After this wonderful day, return to the Pension where I met again with the group. They all were very dirty because they had to climb some rocks and pressed themselves against their face...

This is the last night in Bora-Bora because tomorrow we are going to Moorea...

Here is the Tiare Tahiti (emblem of Tahiti):

Then here are the last pictures of Bora-Bora... I am sad :-(

Last sleep in Bora-Bora... I miss this island already...
