VISIT OF MAUPITI

Today, we are going to visit the island of MAUPITI which is at 40km from Bora-Bora (that is to say 1h30 by boat).

The crossing to Maupiti went rather well. We arrived around 10:00am and we began walking slowly...
The landscapes are nice, but not very very beautiful (to my opinion). Of course, it will be difficult to find a place more beautiful than Bora-Bora!!!

We had lunch on a lovely beach, then on the way back we stop at little shops of local craftsmen. But we didn’t stay for a long time because the boat leaves at 4:00pm and if we missed the boat, she will not come back before 3 days!!!

The crossing back was terrible for me. The swells were big because Maupiti doesn’t have any lagoon, so the sea is quite raging. I was as sick as a dog, but I didn’t vomit.

As a result, coming back to the Pension, I went directly to bed without having dinner. Most people in the group were sick, but recovered quickly and had dinner in the evening. Elisabeth, Francoise and Eric went to see me and asked after me before dinner.

This is why the boat from Bora-Bora to Maupiti (The Maupiti Express) is called The Vomity Express!!!
