QUIET DAY IN MANGAREVA
I woke up at 06:15am. Shower, clothing and breakfast (bread, butter, cheese, homemade pumpkin/pineapple jam, homemade yogurt and fresh fruit)... Nothing is better to begin beautifully a day!
At 08:15am, I decided to go to the panoramic viewpoint to take some pictures. Unfortunately I had just enough time to take only a few pictures before the heavy rain came!!! I was very wet.
I decided to come back to the Pension to rest a little bit and update my travel notebook. On my way, I feel down on my bottom because of the “FXXXX” (censured) sole of my sports shoes which slipped on a wet ground!!!
Once I arrived at the Pension, Bianca showed me quickly how she cooks the pumpkin and mango jam. Mangoes in Polynesia are really sweet, juicy and delicious!!!
So, I didn’t go out of the Pension during the day. I preferred to stay in my bungalow.
Here are some pictures of it:
The menu of the dinner was: mixed salad, rice and a big discovery for me: the corori (the muscle of the mother-of-pearl). It tastes like octopus and scallop. In fact, the Mangarevan people eat the cororis of the mother-of-pearls which cannot provide pearls any more. It’s delicious, raw with a lime juice. For dessert, Bianca cooked a banana crepe... Very good!
I went to bed at 8:30pm.
