EXPLORATION OF NUKU HIVA

This time we took a plane with a “normal size” and landed at the airport of Nuku Hiva. It’s an island with a very arid side.

Jocelyne, our guide, and her husband Etienne, who will go with us for a hike, went to the airport to pick us up. We took a car to go the the village of Taiohae and the route was about 2 hours. We will be accommodated there. On our way, we discovered this magnificent island of the Marquesas...

After two hours drive, we arrived at the Pension “Chez Julienne” where we will spend three nights. The bungalows are very comfy and Julienne is very welcoming. After our installation, we went for a walk to visit the village of Taiohae by ourselves!

Tonight, we had dinner at the restaurant of the Hotel Nuku Hiva Keikahanui Pearl Lodge. And I chose as a main course, guess what??? Curry of the goat of the Marquesas. It’s so delicious...

After dinner, we came back to the bungalow and went to bed very early!
